The ink flag - Israel’s version of the Iwo Jima flag. This flag was put up in Eilat in 1949, signifying the end of the Independence War (1948 war). It is called the ink flag because the soldiers who conquered Eilat had no flag to put up, so they drew a makeshift flag with ink on a pace of white cloth.
